
| Executive Lean Overview: This is a one half day survey class used to introduce the basic principles of lean to the executive staff, as well as to position the role of leadership in the lean initiative. Target audience: Executive staff of the company: President, COO, CFO and their respective staffs. Learning to See: (this is the basic value stream mapping class from the Lean Enterprise Institute). This is a four day workshop, and includes about one full day of classroom learning and three days of value stream mapping of the first values streams to be implemented. Target audience: Members from Project Teams, front line management of first value streams [including sales, finance, human resources] and hourly representatives. ( Up to about twenty people) Introduction to Lean in the office: This is a one half day introduction class for office workers that introduces seven tools for eliminating waste in the administrative environment. Target audience: Office Project Team, all administrative workers, engineers, sales people, customer service, purchasing, distribution, transportation, etc. Introduction to Lean for production hourly workers: This is a one half day introduction class with a hands on exercise that introduces the basic seven principles of lean to the hourly workers. Target is to train all hourly production workers in the company. Ideal class size is 16 to 20 people per class, plus Company project team. This class is structured such that, after seeing it a few times, Company personnel should be able to lead this class by themselves. High Mix, Low Volume Lean: This is a two day advanced class designed to teach detailed approaches on how to manage highly variable demand and how to balance variable work content within value streams. This is for students that have already been through all of the basic classes and have been working on implementing the basic principles in the value streams. Target: Production Project Team, some members of the Office Project team, front line management of first value streams, hourly representatives. ( Up to about twenty people) How to create Standard Work - Production: This is a one day advanced workshop designed to teach the concepts and techniques surrounding operator balance charts and standard work combination tables. Target: the people who will have to design the one piece flow portions of the value stream. Managing Shared Resources: This is a one day advanced workshop designed to teach how to make material flow through shared resources, such as through a paint booth or a heat treat area. Target: Implementation team, front line management of first value streams, hourly representatives. (Up to about twenty people) |
